artist bio

​

Madeline Mace is a fiber, sculpture, and performance artist based in Loma Linda, California. Her work confronts questions of the male and female experience within a patriarchal family structure. Her use of repetitious techniques in crochet, knitting, embroidery, and weaving is an act of domestic ritual to express escape, safety, and security. While her work is autobiographical in nature, Mace seeks to give voice to people who have been silenced and use collected data and testimony to broaden the reach and impact of her artwork.

 

Mace received her BFA degrees in Fine Art and Religious Studies from Southern Adventist University in 2020. She now exhibits her work internationally and is currently enrolled at Loma Linda University working towards a dual masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and Religion and  Society.
